Xander de Boer is a video artist. He studied theatre and film science, as well as visual arts at art school. During his studies he worked as a director on the acclaimed trilogy of dance films (Solid Skin, Vast, Salavatierra), in collaboration with choreographer Maaike van Dijk, which has been shown on both national and international festivals. His work as an independent filmmaker has been described as stylistically refined, in which a profound synergy of movement, image and sound is created. In theatre he has been working on live video with a diversity of directors. He also works for public and commercial television.
